How Recipes Work

Recipe Data Structure

You can create multiple recipes and control it in groups.

1: Ingredient value

2: Recipe data

Note: For more details, see Supported Model/Feature for the number of Ingredient Value, Recipe, and Recipe Group you can create.

Recipe Workflow

  1. Create recipes with the screen editing software.

Note: By using the Import/Export function, you can also modify recipes in Excel or other software. For more detail, refer following.

    Exporting and Importing Recipe Data

  2. Transfer the project to the display unit.

    Note:

    • If the save destination of recipe is set to [Internal], the recipe is saved in the internal memory of the display unit. For the internal memory, refer to the following.
Functions Available in Memory / Storage
If you want to reduce the amount of internal memory usage, change the save destination to external storage. From the Project Explorer select [Control], and in the Properties window change the [Save in] option.

    • If the recipe is saved to external storage, attach the external storage to the display unit.

  3. Select the recipes you want to send from the display unit to the external device. For information about selecting recipes, refer to the following.
    Selecting Recipes

Note: Before sending recipes to the external device, you can compare differences in data with the Ingredient Viewer object.

Selecting Recipes

There are two ways to select recipes.

Select [Recipe] ➞ [Control], and by defining variables for the [Recipe Family ID], [Recipe Group ID], and [Recipe ID] you can use the external device to select recipes. You can set up one Recipe Control for each project.

Note: By associating the variables with switches or numeric displays, you can also select recipes from the display unit.

By using a Recipe Dropdown List object, you can touch to select recipes. In this case, setting up variables for selecting recipes becomes unnecessary.

Note: By selecting a recipe in the Recipe Dropdown List object, recipe data is read from the project file.

Recipe Data Transition - 4: Load

In the following video, refer to the recipe Selection Method for when using the Recipe Dropdown List object.

Comparing Ingredients with Data on the External Device

Before transferring recipes, you can use the Ingredient Viewer object to compare ingredients on the display unit with external device values.

By executing the [Compare] operation, the device address value is displayed in the [Compared Value] column of the Ingredient Viewer object. You can set a different Font Color and Background Color in the Ingredient Viewer object for when compared values are the same or different.

If [Value] and [Compared Value] is different, "X" is displayed in [Compared Result] column.

Recipe Data Transition

To send the selected recipe to external devices, you need to set up scripts.

Depending on the operation selected in Operation, the transition of recipe data is as follows.

Name Description
A

Project File

Data saved on the display unit.
B

Working Memory

Memory for temporary storage of working data. Data is lost if power on the display unit is turned OFF. Selecting a recipe copies the recipe saved in the project to this memory.
1

Send

Send a recipe from the display unit to the external device.
2

Snapshot

Copies data on the external device to the display unit. (Not saved to the display unit.)
3

Compared

Compares recipes on the display unit (working memory) with external device data.
4

Load

Discards data read using Snapshot or recipes modified with the Ingredient Viewer object, and restores them with recipes saved in the project.
5

Save

Saves to the project data read using Snapshot or recipes modified with the Ingredient Viewer object.
6

Import

Import recipes from the external storage attached to the display unit.
7

Export

Export recipes saved on the display unit to external storage attached to the display unit.
