How to Install SSL Certificate on the Client

Secure HTTPS communication via the Web Viewer or Web Server requires the SSL certificate to be installed on the client device beforehand.

Exporting the SSL Certificate from the Server 

  1. On the display unit, open the Hardware Configuration screen.
  2. To the right of the [Web Function Setting] field, touch the ellipsis [...] to view the SSL certificate status.
  3. To the right of the [Web Function Certificate] field, touch the ellipsis [...] to confirm the certificate is valid, then touch [Export].
  4. The certificate is exported to the location specified in [Export Certificate] - [Data Storage] and [Folder Name] in the screen editing software.

Installing the SSL Certificate on the Client

If you connect to the Web Viewer server without the SSL certificate installed, a warning page will appear. The following provides examples of how to install an SSL certificate. The procedure may vary depending on the version of the browser and operating system you are using. For the most accurate and up-to-date instructions, refer to the official documentation provided by your browser and operating system vendors.

When Using Chrome or Edge on PC

  1. Close the browser.
  2. Transfer the exported certificate file (.crt) to the PC.
  3. Press [Win] + [R] to open the [Run] dialog.
  4. Type “certmgr.msc” and press [Enter] to open the [Certificate Manager].
  5. Select [Trusted Root Certification Authorities].
  6. From the menu bar, select [Action] > [All Tasks] > [Import].
  7. Follow the wizard and select the certificate file.
  8. When the [Security Warning] dialog box appears, click [Yes].
  9. Restart the browser to apply the new certificate.

When Using Chrome on Android

  1. Transfer the exported certificate file (.crt) to the Android device.
  2. Go to [Settings] > [Security & privacy] > [More security & privacy].
  3. Tap [Encryption & credentials].
  4. Select [Install a certificate], then choose [CA certificate].
  5. Tap [Install from device storage].
  6. Locate and select the certificate file.
  7. Tap [OK] or [Install] to complete the process.

When Using Safari on iOS

  1. Transfer and save the exported certificate file (.crt) to the iPhone.
  2. Tap the file to begin installation.
  3. A message will appear: “Review Profile in Settings app if you want to install it.”
  4. Go to [Settings] > [General] > [VPN & Device Management].
  5. Under [DOWNLOADED PROFILE], tap the certificate.
  6. Tap [Install].
  7. Enter your passcode.
  8. A warning appears. Tap [Install].
  9. The profile is installed. Tap [Done] to complete installation.
  10. Go to [Settings] > [General] > [About] > [Certificate Trust Settings].
  11. Under [ENABLE FULL TRUST FOR ROOT CERTIFICATE], toggle the switch for the installed certificate.
  12. A warning appears. Tap [Continue] to complete.
