=====================================================================
File: 98readme.txt (For LPG1 boards)
=====================================================================
Product: 3300 series and 1401 products with an LPG1 motherboard.
=====================================================================
Extra Hardware required:
     1. External Xycom Floppy drive
     2. Backpack CD-Rom drive from Micro-solutions or equivalent.
     3. Boot floppy.
=====================================================================
Instructions:
* A Windows 98 boot disk must be created. Take a blank floppy and the
  Windows 98 recovery CD to a system running Windows 98.
* Follow the instructions in file 140638(x) Windows 98 Recovery Media
  Installation.pdf. The file used (i.e. makebt.bat) to create the
  floppies is located in the root directory of the 98 Recovery CD.
* Use this disk to partition and format the hard drive.
* Install the DOS Backpack CDRom drivers to the hard drive.
* Copy the 98 drivers from the Xycom Document CD to the C: drive.
* Copy any other drivers needed to the hard drive at this time.
  Especially if they are on floppies.
* Place the recovery CD in the backpack and run the "setup.exe"
  located there.
* Follow the normal install process.
* When the installation is complete, copy the Windows 98 directory
  from the recovery CD to the hard drive. This will save time in the
  future.
* Install the VGA/System driver that was found on the Xycom Document
  CD. Reboot after installation.
* The default video resolution is now 800x600. If you have an 8" or
  10" flat panel display, the display will be in "pan" mode. Now
  change the resolution to 640x480.
* Install the LAN driver found on the Xycom Document CD (if needed).
* Before using the floppy drive in Windows 98, the floppy driver MUST
  be reinstalled. Follow the "readme.txt" file that is supplied with
  this driver. The true Windows 98 DOS (non Windows emulator) will
  work without doing this step.
