Release 2.01a
December 9, 1999

Elo TouchSystems, Inc.

MonitorMouse for Windows 95 contains a native, 32-bit driver
designed for Windows 95, setup program, uninstall utility, right
mouse button utility, and 32-bit control panel program, and
diagnostic applications for Elo TouchSystems' touchscreens. A new
"Drag delay" feature has been added to the touchscreen control
panel.

=====================================
Supported Elo Touchscreen Controllers
=====================================

- Serial Controllers (IntelliTouch(R) 2310, 2300,
AccuTouch(R) 2210)

- PC-Bus Controllers (IntelliTouch 4035, AccuTouch 2201)

--------------------------------------------------------
If you have an older Elo touchscreen controller that
is not supported by MonitorMouse for Windows 95, an
application that must run in a DOS Full Screen
session, or a MonitorMice multiple touchscreen
application, you may use the Windows 3.x 16-bit
drivers instead of the MonitorMice for Windows 95
32-bit drivers. These drivers are found on the DOS
and Windows Driver Disk available at www.elotouch.com.

Installing MonitorMouse for Windows 95
======================================

1. Shutdown Windows 95 and turn off your computer.

2. Install your Elo touchscreen hardware as described in the
IntelliTouch or AccuTouch Product Manual, or the Quick Start
poster.

3.  Start your computer.

4. After Windows loads, click the Start button, and then click
Run.

5. Click the Browse button to locate the setup.exe program in
the directory containing the driver install files. Click OK,
then OK again to run setup.exe.

6. Follow the directions on the screen.

7. Choose your Elo touchscreen controller from the list.

If you have a serial touchscreen, select the serial port
you connected the touchscreen cable to in step 2 above.
All serial ports reported by Windows are displayed.

8.  Complete the Setup program.

9. Restart Windows 95 when prompted. The touchscreen
calibration program will automatically run when Windows
starts up. Touch each of the three targets as they appear
on the screen. Click Yes when the cursor lines up correctly
with your finger.

=======================================
2.00 Release Enhancements and Bug Fixes
=======================================

- Enhanced, user-friendly setup program added.

- Uninstall feature added to fully remove the touchscreen device
and driver files from your system. Completion of uninstall
requires you to restart Windows.

- On-screen right mouse button utility added. Enable this
utility from the Buttons page of the touchscreen control
panel. Touch the right mouse icon first, then touch the screen
to issue right mouse button function. The on-screen icon can
be moved around the screen only when the Buttons page of the
touchscreen control panel is visible.

- Now uses "VCOMM" communications protocol instead of
communicating directly to the serial port hardware. Enables
support of multi-port serial controllers (i.e., RocketPort
from Comtrol).

- Fully integrated with the Windows 95 Device Manager. Elo
Touchscreen now appears in the Windows Device Manager.
Resources for Elo PC-bus controllers can be managed from the
Properties page.

- Supports device removal/disable from Device Manager.

- Supports low-cost 2-wire serial touchscreen controller
connection. See the Release Notes below on how to add a
registry key to enable this option.

- Driver loaded through the Windows 95 Registry instead of
SYSTEM.INI file.

- Redesigned touchscreen control panel uses tabbed property
sheet format and animated touch mode previews.

- Added Drag delay control to the Buttons page of the
touchscreen control panel. Drag delay provides flexible
user control of drag operations. The control sets the
time delay before drag starts after selecting an on-screen
object. A longer delay value can make it easier to select
desktop icons and hypertext links in web browsers. The drag
delay value defaults to 0 in order to match touch operation
of earlier driver releases.

- The Controller Information on the Diagnostics tab reports
the touchscreen type and any controller diagnostic errors
detected at driver load.

- Corrects bug that disabled the touchscreen when the Windows
shutdown option, "Close all programs and log on as a different
user", was selected.

- Corrects bug that sometimes caused a "Windows Protection
Fault" error at startup.

- Corrects bug that sometimes caused a horizontal cursor
offset after calibration.

- Corrected bug that caused the 2201 AccuTouch PC-Bus controller
to fail to function after running the setup program.

=======================================
2.01 Release Enhancements and Bug Fixes
=======================================

- Setup.exe now clears the read-only attribute of all files
copied during the installation process. Corrects bug that
caused Setup.exe to fail on subsequently executions after
Setup.exe execution was initially cancelled.

========================================
2.01a Release Enhancements and Bug Fixes
========================================

- Serial controllers are now listed as "*Elo Touchmonitor
Interface on COMx" and are now listed at the top of the
device selection dialog displayed during Setup.

=============
Release Notes
=============

- If you receive the error message "Cannot load DLL32.DLL" when
running the Setup program, a previous installation of
MonitorMouse for Windows 95 has most likely become corrupted.
Simply run the mmuninst.exe program to uninstall the previous
version before re-running Setup.

- Full Screen DOS sessions are not supported. However, Windowed
DOS mode is fully supported. A touch to a full-screen DOS
session will cause your system to immediately return to your
Windows desktop. A mouse can be used to access programs run
in a Full Screen DOS session.

- The touchscreen control panel is optimized for resolutions
higher than 640x480. When running 640x480 video modes you will
not be able to view the entire touchscreen control panel. Hide
the Windows 95 toolbar, then drag the control panel window up
by the title bar to access the bottom portion.

- To enable the "2-wire", no-handshaking mode, set the following
binary registry key to 00 00 using regedit.exe:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\Class\
EloTouchscreen\0000\HardwareHandshaking

- When using the 4035 PC-Bus Intellitouch controller, Windows 95
may not shut down properly if a touch is made during shutdown.
A touch during startup when using this controller may cause
the driver to fail to enable. Avoid touching the screen during
startup and shutdown when using this controller. These problems
do not occur with any other controllers.

- Your application can launch the Elo calibration application.
Simply execute ELOCAL32.EXE in the \WINDOWS\SYSTEM folder from
within your application.
