Preface

Thank you for purchasing GP-Pro EX.

This program (OS Recovery Tool) is used to restore the OS of GP3000
Series using a dedicated serial cable when it is broken from some
reasons and the GP unit does not start (the GP display is all black
and the LED is blinking in orange.)
In normal use, this program is not necessary.
Also, this tool cannot be used by LT3000 Series.

1. Installation
*********************************************************************

To install this program, using Explorer, copy the "TrRecovery.exe"
file in the installation CD of GP-Pro-EX or the Transfer Tool to the
folder where GP-Pro Ex or the Transfer Tool is installed.
Since the OS Recovery Tool refers to the environment
where GP-Pro Ex or the Transfer Tool is installed, if the execution
folder has neither of them, an error occurrs during execution.

2. How to Use
*********************************************************************

  1. Execute TrRecovery.exe.
  2. Turn off the GP unit.
  3. Connect the COM1 of the GP unit to the PC using the dedicated
      serial cable (PSP-CB01).
  4. In the "Serial Port" setting of the OS Recovery Tool, select
the COM port of the PC to which the dedicated serial cable is
      connected.
  5. If the GP model is other than AGP-3302B, turn on the DIP switch
3 beside the CF-card slot of the GP unit. Since AGP-3302B has
no DIP switch, DIP switch operation is not required.
For AGP-3200 models, while holding down the push switch next to
the LAN port, follow steps 6 to 8.
  6. Click the "Start" button of the OS Recovery Tool.
  7. After the message that requires turning on the GP is displayed,
      turn it on.
  8. If transfer starts, wait till its completion. If it does not
start or a communication error is displayed, check the cable
connection and the "Serial Port" setting.
  9. After transfer is completed, turn off the GP unit, and be sure
to turn off DIP switch 3. In the case of AGP-3302B, DIP
      switch operation is not required.
For AGP-3200 models, release the push switch.
  10. To terminate the OS Recovery Tool, click the "Close" button.

3. About Serial Cable
*********************************************************************

For this OS Recovery Tool, use the serial cable made by Digital
(Type: PSP-CB01) or a cable with the following connection. Since the
connection condition of the cable is checked before transfer, if the
cable is not properly connected, transfer cannot be performed.
