Setting Common Properties for Multiple Variables at One Time
Select from among all the global variables or among the local variables
to set the common properties of selected variables at one time. This reduces
the time and effort required to set up the common properties of each variable.
Conditions for One-time Setting
Variable Type
Both global variables and local variables cannot be selected. Select
other types of variables as follows.
- Among All Global Variables
- Basic variables, array variables and structure variables can
be selected together.
- Internal variables and external variables can be selected together.
- Among Local Variables
- Basic variables and array variables (parent and child) can
be selected together.
Conditions for Applicable Properties
The following must be identical.
- Property name
- Data types of settings
- Control types (checkbox, spinbutton, and so on)
Number of Variables
The maximum number of variables is 1000.
If the maximum limit is exceeded, the [Properties] window displays the
message. "The Number of objects selected exceeds the maximum limit
of 1000."
Operations for One-time Setting
- When multiple variables are selected (either global variables or
local variables), only the common properties that can be set display
in the [Properties] window.
At that time, the [Name] at the top of the [Properties] window shows
“Selected X Variables”
(X is the number of selected variables), and the [Type] shows “Variable”.
When there are no properties that are common and configurable, the
[Properties] window appears blank.
- Edit the variables as required.
To clear the selection of a variable, hold the [Ctrl] key and click
the variable.
- The set values are retained for properties that do not display for the
one-time setting.
- When all or some of the common property values are different among the
selected variables, the property is grayed out and empty (no value).
- When the source property associations for a [Value] property are different
among the variables, the property is blank and the Property Marker is
gray. The same applies when there is a variable that is not associated
with any source property.
- After the one-time setting, if the common property value for all the variables
is invalid, the property displays a red frame to indicate an error.
- After the one-time setting, if the common property value for some of the
variables is invalid, the property does not display a red frame to
indicate an error. Check the [Error] window for these invalid values.
- To restore the previous settings after the one-time setting, click the
[Undo] button in the [Application toolbar].
