Properties (FTP Connection)

Basic

[ID]

Displays the ID of the FTP connection.

Value range: 1

[Encryption]

Select the encryption method used with the FTP server communication:

  • [Implicit FTP over TLS]: Encrypted communication starts when you connect to the FTP server.
  • [Explicit FTP over TLS]: After connecting to the FTP server, the display unit sends an encryption request to start encrypted communication.
  • [Use plain FTP (insecure)]: Communication without data encryption.

Note:

  • [Implicit FTP over TLS] is recommended.
  • If [Explicit FTP over TLS] or [Use plain FTP (insecure)] is selected, this property displays a warning status, as well as a warning in the error window.
  • When you select [Use plain FTP (insecure)], the properties below the [Validate Certificate] property are hidden.
[Server IP Address]

Sets the IP address of the FTP server to connect to.

Configurable range: 0.0.0.0 - 255.255.255.255

Note: Use a trusted FTP server and IP address.

[Port Number]

Set the port number of the FTP server to connect to using one of the encryption methods below, as selected in the [Encryption] field.

  • Implicit FTP over TLS: 990
  • Explicit FTP over TLS: 21
  • Use plain FTP (insecure): 21

Configurable range: 1 - 65535

[Time out (sec)]

Sets the time, in seconds, to wait for a response from the FTP server. If there is no response within the set time, the FTP communication is terminated.

Configurable range: 3 - 120

[Resume]

Select the check box to resume file transfer from the point when it was interrupted by a communication error. Clear the check box to transfer files from the beginning after a communication error.

[Retry]

Sets the number of times the display unit retransmits a command when there is no response from the FTP server.

Configurable range: 0 - 10

[Retry Interval (100 ms)]

Sets the time interval, in 100 millisecond units, after which the display unit retransmits commands.

Configurable range: 1 - 100

[Login Type]

Select the format of the account information used to log into the FTP server:

  • [Normal]: Log in to the FTP server using your username and password.
  • [Anonymous]: Log in to the FTP server with the user name "anonymous" and the password "guest".

Note:

  • If [Anonymous] is selected, this property displays the security warning status as well as a security warning in the error window.
  • Select [Anonymous] to hide the [User Name] and [Password] fields.
[User Name]

Set a user name, up to 512 characters long, for logging in to the FTP server.

Note: If blank, the error window displays an error.

[Password]

Set a password, up to 512 characters long, for logging in to the FTP server.

[PASV]

Select the check box for FTP communication in passive mode. Clear the check box for FTP communication in active mode.

[Validate Certificate]

Select whether the display unit verifies the certificate when it connects to the FTP server.

  • [Validate]: Validates the certificate.
  • [Skip]: Skips certificate validation.

Note: Select [Skip] and warnings will appear in the error window.

[Root Certificate]

Select the root certificate file. Only "*.cer" (PEM format) files are supported.
