Notes on connecting to Ethernet
- When communicating over an Ethernet connection, communication may not be possible depending on the configuration of the destination device. If communication is not possible, try the following:
- If you are directly connected to the destination device via an Ethernet cable, use an Ethernet Switch.
- Match the [Auto Negotiation], [Speed Setting] and [Duplex Setting] settings with the destination device.
You can change these settings on the hardware configuration screen.
Configuring Ethernet Settings
When Using SP5000 Series Power Box, SP5000X Series
- You cannot use Web Server and Web Viewer simultaneously.
When Using ST6000 Series
- Be sure to supply power from the power cable when using the display unit, including transferring. The display unit may not operate correctly when it is connected to the PC with only a USB cable.
When Using ST6000 2nd Gen Series
- Be sure to supply power from the power cable when using the display unit, including transferring. The display unit may not operate correctly when it is connected to the PC with only a USB cable.
- Because the local storage uses flash memory, the system must be designed with write‑cycle limitations in mind.
- The display unit's runtime version can be checked in the display unit's [System Settings], in [Information] - [System Version].
When Using STM6000 Series (Except for STM-6B00D)

Be sure to supply power from the power cable when using the display unit, including transferring. Even if power is not supplied from the power cable, when the display unit and the PC are connected with the USB transfer cable, the status LED of the display unit turns green, but nothing is displayed on the display unit screen.

Be sure to use STM-6200WAD / STM-6400WAD with the display module attached. If you turn on the power with the display module detached, the status LED blinks red twice and the buzzer sounds twice. If that happens, attach the display module and the display unit will automatically restart.
Furthermore, do NOT use the STM-6200WAD / STM-6400WAD with a different-sized display module attached. If you attach a different-sized display module, the status LED blinks red twice and repeats, the buzzer sounds twice and repeats, and the following error message is displayed.
Error Message:
The resolution of the display module does not match the project settings: ***x***.
Either replace the display module, or change the model in the project settings and transfer the project via the USB transfer cable.
When Using STM-6B00D

To monitor and operate the screen, use BLUE Web Viewer. BLUE Web Viewer is activated by factory default.

Be sure to supply power from the power cable when using the display unit, including transferring. Even if power is not supplied from the power cable, when the display unit and the PC are connected with the USB transfer cable, the status LED of the display unit turns green, but nothing is displayed on the display unit screen.

When you attach a display module to STM-6B00D, use the same sized display module as configured in the screen editing software. If you attach a different-sized display module, the status LED blinks red twice and repeats, the buzzer sounds twice and repeats, and the following error message is displayed.
Error Message:
The resolution of the display module does not match the project settings: ***x***.Either replace the display module, or change the model in the project settings and transfer the project via the USB transfer cable.
System Error
LED flashes in green when there are system errors. For more information on error messages, refer to the following.
When Using GP-4100 Series
- Since models in the GP-4100 Series are not equipped with backup memory, part of the internal memory is used as the backup area. User documents refer to this area as "virtual backup memory". Data in virtual backup memory, just like backup memory, is preserved even when the GP-4100 Series is turned off using a Runtime Application operation or from Hardware Configuration. But when the GP-4100 Series is turned off using any operation other than a Runtime Application operation or Hardware Configuration screen, the following data is lost:

For GP-4100 Series models, the available versions of BLUE vary depending on the SV (software version) of the display unit. Check the table below for the versions of BLUE. Check the product label on the display unit for the SV.
BLUE Version 3.4 or earlier BLUE Version 3.4 Service Pack 1 Version 3.5 SV 3.0 or later - 
SV 2.0 or earlier
If a project is transferred to a display unit that cannot use it, the error message SYS00003 or the following message will appear:
[The target is not a valid Pro-face HMI device]
Precaution on the Touch Panel
- On the SP5000 Series Power Box and SP5000X Series, if you turn off the power and turn the power back on right away, the error message below may appear. If you see this message, turn off the power, wait at least 10 seconds, and then turn it on again.
Error message: Touch panel driver initialization failed.
